Zucchini Chocolate Blog Party: Bring Your Recipes

Did you know that I like chocolate?

Right.

I also like zucchini. Truestory. So as Valerie over at City | Life | Eats posted a slew recipes using both chocolate AND zucchini, I salivated. More and more with each passing recipe. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore and begged her to co-host a blog part with the theme of zucchini and chocolate.

A wave of relief washed over me when she agreed.

It’s worth noting that Valerie is very dedicated to a gluten-free diet, which is amazing. With that in mind, we set up FOUR different challenges, two of which call for gluten-free recipes.

Challenge: A recipe using chocolate and zucchini
Plant-Based Challenge: A vegan recipe using chocolate and zucchini
Gluten-Free Challenge: A gluten-free recipe using chocolate and zucchini
Ultimate Challenge: A vegan and gluten-free recipe using chocolate and zucchini

I’ll post recipes involving gluten. Valerie will catch the gluten-free ones. I might catch some of those, too, since I’m sure they’ll be tasty.

In true open-minded chocoholic form, any kind of chocolate (cacao nibs, chocolate chips, chocolate bars, fudge, powder) are welcome as part of recipes for the event, and you are welcome to dig into your archives for recipes – no need to make a new one if you have something delicious on hand that I can envy.

All the information you need:

Challenge: A recipe using chocolate and zucchini
Plant-Based Challenge: A vegan recipe using chocolate and zucchini
Gluten-Free Challenge: A gluten-free recipe using chocolate and zucchini
Ultimate Challenge: A vegan and gluten-free recipe using chocolate and zucchini

Additional notes applicable to all challenges:
-Recipes can be sweet or savory and must include both ingredients
-The chocolate can be used in any form, i.e. chocolate bars, chips, raw cacao, raw cacao nibs, dutch process cocoa, chocolate fudge.

-Chocolate zucchini recipes previously published on your blog are accepted as long as you add a link to this event post and the badge

-Recipes submitted to other blog events are welcome at this blog party.
-Submissions should be made to blogparty2011 at gmail dot com by midnight September 12, 2011, and include the name of the recipe, link of the recipe, name of your blog, a picture of the recipe (sized to no greater than 500px wide). Also please include which challenge your recipe meets.
-Non-bloggers, please email the full text of the recipe to blogparty2011 at gmail dot com in lieu of link to the recipe and name of the blog.

So. What are YOU going to make for our party?

  3. Perhaps a zucchini sculpted out of a block of chocolate and stuffed with small chocolates sculpted out of baby zucchini? No, that sounds about the grossest thing I could think of. And also not really a recipe. Or something you would want associated with your party.

    I'll keep thinking.

  4. I can't invent baking recipes. But I am pretty excited to make ones other people post. Chocolate and zucchini are a pretty good combo.
