Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee! More travel! This time, though, it wasn’t work-related or swimming-related. This time, I headed up to the Healthy Living Summit in Philadelphia to spend some time with lovely ladies like Jenny and Carly…who actually blog about things related to healthy living, like running. As opposed to, you know, chocolate.
Ironically, not only was this chocolate blogger attending this healthy-living get-together with bloggers and blog readers from around the country, but this particular chocolate blogger was speaking at this meeting.
Say what?
Yep. I teamed together with Erin to deliver a presentation on maintaining healthy habits while traveling. She talked about staying healthy on vacation, while I stuck to what I know: BUSINESS TRAVEL. You know I do just a little bit of that.
And stay (relatively) healthy while doing it. Lest I become unhealthy and out of shape, leaving me unable to do things like open water swims, running road races, triathlons, and insane training days. So I passed along a few tips, and answered a few questions.
And enjoyed the conference swag.
Which included chocolate. Duh.
Then Jenny, Carly and I headed out for more chocolate, which was necessary. Max Brenner’s to the rescue!
I got different dishes than I got when I visited the branch in Boston, and will, of course, be reviewing the experience.
I’m actually back in DC now. Fancy that. Chase and I took a late night train back last night so that I could remember what my apartment here looked like.
At least I have my “chocolate calcium discs.” Also known as “chocolate.”
Have you been to a blogger conference before? How did it go?
I soooooo wish I could go to this conference!!! It looked amazing!!!! Can't wait to see your updates on your presentation- would love to hear your tips! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the costco "calcium discs". Gotta get your calcium. Never been to a blogger conference...sounds like fun though! That's awesome that you were a speaker!
ReplyDeleteHey roomie! Was fun to see you! Sorry we didn't get to hang more, the weekend totally flew by. Glad you guys got home safely last night. Hope to see you at a DC blogger get together soon!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go to a conference like this--one day it will happen!
ReplyDeleteI've seen those adora discs everywhere and obviously need them for the calcium. Oh, they're chocolate? Convenient.
:)
Congratulations!! So proud of you, and deeply wish I could have been there to see you speak (and steal your swag).
ReplyDeleteHaven't been to a blogger conference - wish I could've made it to HLS!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on speaking at the conference; that's fantastic! Actually...I'm headed to a vegan food bloggers conference in Portland on Friday!!! Never been to one before, so it should be an exciting new experience.
ReplyDeleteBAHHH. I'm going next year and that is so cool you got speak. And road trip to LA JOLLAAAA!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to finally meet you Victoria! I can't wait to try out some of your chocolate tips!
ReplyDeletebummed to miss a trip to philly, but very cool you got to speak there!
ReplyDeleteHLS seemed like a really good time! I needed some of your tips when I used to travel non stop for work. Thank goodness I don't have to anymore.
ReplyDeleteTravel tip: when doing the requisite chocolate crawl, be sure to walk (not drive!) between stores and take the stairs when possible!
ReplyDeleteI am bummed I missed out on this conference! We need to have DC blogger get-together sans a triathlon so we can actually chat for more than 2 minutes.
